Nam June Paik was one of the first pioneers of video art. The playlist of videos is a set of excerpts from his new years special in 1984 called Good Morning Mr. Orwell. It combined visual art, music, dance, performance, and animation and broadcast it to create a New Year's art event. Rather than have a gathering at New Year at a gallery, the event takes place on the TV. What effect would broadcast would have had on the art presented, and would that art have been as effective in a gallery space rather than a broadcast?
